Historique et présentation de la revue

La revue Caliban a été fondée en 1964. Prenant le titre d’Anglophonia/Caliban de 1997 à janvier 2014, où elle paraissait annuellement en alternance avec la revue de linguistique Anglophonia/Sigma, elle a repris en 2014 le titre original de Caliban. Elle paraît au rythme de deux numéros par an. La revue est consacrée aux littératures et civilisations de langue anglaise (Iles britanniques, Etats-Unis, Canada, Afrique, Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Inde, Caraïbes, etc...). Chaque numéro est thématique et privilégie les recherches récentes dans les domaines de la littérature, de la civilisation et aussi des arts visuels. Il offre notamment aux jeunes chercheurs une possibilité de faire connaître leur recherche. Elle paraît au rythme de 2 numéros par an qui traitent de littérature, civilisation et arts visuels dans le domaine anglophone.

L’équipe de redaction comprend un directeur ou une directrice editorial(e) élu(e), un comité de redaction compose en majeure partie d’enseignants chercheurs de l’Université Toulouse 2-Jean Jaurès, et d’un comité scientifique composé d’enseignants chercheurs spécialistes de divers domaines dans des universités françaises, britanniques, espagnoles, américaines et canadiennes.

Chaque numéro est coordonné par un ou plusieurs rédacteurs en chef en fonction de la thématique du numéro.

Caliban est publié avec le concours du CAS (Centre for Anglophone Studies).

Presentation of the journal

The journal Caliban was created in 1964. Entitled Anglophonia/Caliban from 1997 to January 2014 (alternating with the journal of linguistics Anglophonia/Sigma, with one issue a year), it took its original title Caliban again in 2014. There are two issues per year. It is devoted to the literatures and civilisations of English-speaking countries (British Isles, USA, Canada, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Caribbean Islands, etc...). Every issue is thematic and favours recent research in the fields of literature, civilisation and visual arts. It offers young searchers the opportunity to have their research known.

The editorial board is composed of a general editor (who is elected), an editorial board mostly composed of teachers and researchers from Université Toulouse 2-Jean Jaurès, and of a scientific board composed of teachers and researchers who are specialists in various fields and belong to French, British, Spanish, American and Canadian universities.

Each issue is edited by one or several editors according to the theme of the issue.

Caliban is published with the support of the CAS.

Before the issue of Anglophonia/Caliban n° 1, 33 issues of Caliban were published between 1964 and 1997.

List of the titles of the issues (and link towards the tables of contents since 2015): issues 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35 of Anglophonia/Caliban and 52 and 53 of Caliban are available online. The issues published after 2015 will be made available as soon as possible and older issues will be made available on Persée.
